"Buraaq"- First American Muslim Superhero

As an artist, I have always been fascinated by the concept of super heroes and comic books. It was and is an entertainment medium that has captured the imagination of youth and adults alike, across the globe. The recent, unprecedented assault of movies based on comic book characters on the world of entertainment speaks for itself.

We've also seen the same industry promote negative stereotypes of Muslims and the Islamic World. This has polarized societies everywhere . Wars, intolerance, and extremism are on the rise. The bridge between civilizations needs to be strengthened, and not destroyed.

We believe that this negativity, intentional or not, needs to be countered.  We believe that our youth deserves entertainment that revives the sense of  tolerance, justice and morality. The universality of good as well as evil has to be re-established. And what better way than to introduce a Super Hero who literally floats above the undercurrents of race, creed, and color.

SplitMoonArts came into being then with the mission to provide wholesome entertainment & to try to bring people together.

The first American Muslim Superhero "Buraaq", created by a muslim artist. With so much negativity surrounding the muslim community around the globe, kids and adults need a new role model. They need to lookup to a positive image of Islam.
